For Charles Hampton, great wine begins with respect for the vineyard. At the base of Sonoma Mountain, we farm using all organic methods, then go one step further by never tilling the soil. Instead, we mow and weed whack to tend the cover crop, protecting the life of the land that gives our grapes their character.

That same care carries into the winery. Every wine is handcrafted in small batches, and here too we go beyond organic: our wines are made without added sulfites, letting the true character of Sonoma Valley and the care behind each vintage shine through.

Charles Hampton

Hampton Family Wines is a reflection of Charles Hampton's passion and commitment to make handcrafted, ultra premium wine using all organic methods in the vineyard and in the making of all the wines. As owner and winemaker, Charles brings a hands-on approach to small-batch production and a clear vision: exceptional wine, made with care.

Our vineyard sits at the base of Sonoma Mountain, in a landscape that gives our wines their sense of place. Working without added sulfites is central to our approach, along with a respect for the fruit and the land it comes from. Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory; Charles reports no detectable sulfites down to one part per million.

Our no-spray vineyard and small-batch winemaking are at the heart of what we do. Precision fermentation controls and filtration support our commitment to producing wines without added sulfites or synthetic preservatives.

For our Cabernet Sauvignon, new French oak aging brings another layer of craftsmanship to the wine. Every decision is made with the finished bottle, and the people who will share it, in mind.
